MRIcontrast Pro™ is an interactive simulator designed specifically for professionals in the healthcare field who specialize in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The application provides users with a hands-on learning experience on how altering scan parameters can impact the resulting MR image.

Utilizing MRIcontrast Pro™, individuals can observe realistic MRI images from various anatomical regions and have the ability to adjust critical scan parameters such as repetition time, echo time, flip angle, and magnetic field strength (1.5T or 3T). Any modification made to these parameters yields an instant real-time update of the MR image.

For novice users in MRI, the app features a comprehensive built-in tutorial that elucidates the significance of each parameter adjustment and its corresponding impact on the MR image. Extensive explanations of imaging protocols are provided, accompanied by guidelines on exploring and understanding various observable phenomena.

Moreover, MRIcontrast Pro™ comes equipped with a collection of common sequence types, including T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and PD-weighted spin echo sequences, among others. Users can experiment with altering preset parameters to observe their effects on image outcomes.

Users can further enhance their experience by activating the scanner sound feature in the app, which dynamically changes based on the selected scan parameter settings.

The application showcases various image features and MRI phenomena, such as contrast variation based on TR, TE, and flip angle; signal-to-noise ratio calculations; identification of fat/water in-phase and opposed-phase differences; detection of chemical shift artifacts; comparison of image contrast and SNR between 3T and 1.5T; examination of T2*-relaxation effects; visualization of EPI geometrical distortions; analysis of diffusion attenuation in relation to b-values; and identification of True FISP banding artifacts.
